Hello again, friends!
I hope you all enjoyed your Fourth of July festivities as much as this bear did!
It’s hard to believe that the first full month of summer has already come to a close! The days and nights have been filled with so many activities that the time has passed so quickly and I for one, am exhausted! But it isn’t over yet, August in Old Forge is sure to be just as exciting and full of fun!
For those of you that like to push your physical endurance limits, Enchanted Forest Water Safari will be hosting the second annual Old Forge Triathlons on Sunday, August 18th. If you would like to register or just want more information you can visit – http://www.atcendurance.com/. Triathlons aren’t exactly meant for bears since pedaling a bike makes me feel like my uncle Larry who travels with the circus. This skill must have skipped a generation since bike riding is not exactly my forte. I will definitely be cheering on the amazing women and men that take part in this event especially since it travels behind the Old Forge Hardware.
Do you have an interest in local history? Then you definitely don’t want to miss the Lectures on the Lawn series at the Goodsell Museum. Each Wednesday at 2:30 in the afternoon, the Goodsell Museum will be hosting lectures on different parts of local history by guest speakers.
Even with all of these exciting events going on, don’t forget to take some quiet time for you. Check out the website for View, our local Art Center, and look at their yoga schedule. There are different types of classes, so find one that looks like a good fit for you and give it a try! Looking for something a little more upbeat? They also offer Zumba classes during the week.
The events I’ve mentioned are just a fraction of all the things going on! We hope you’ll come out and join us for these events and more.
As always, we hope that you take a minute during your Old Forge visit to stop in and see us. Come say “Hello!” and check out all of the great things we have in store. Hurry in for 30% off multiple brands during our huge clothing sale! From the work day to the hiking trail we have the apparel you’re looking for! Gather around the table by our front window to knit with friends or meet a local author at one of our book signings. There is something for everyone in “The Adirondacks’ Most General Store.”
Until next time… don’t forget to paws and soak in the sunshine!
Sincerely,
Henry the Hardware Bear
